Malaysia is absolutely positively gorgeous.
We (Jeff, Luke, Don P, Suffa, and I) left to Malaysia on Thursday morning and arrived in Kuala Lumpur by the early afternoon. I was pretty tired from not really sleeping the night before and I sort of brought it upon myself because on the airplane, I got sucked into watching the movies, and didn't sleep when I should have. It did more damage, I think, when my fatigue brought down my immune system and I caught someone else's neighboring cold. I thought at first, it was just the air in the plane that made my throat so dry, but as the hours wore on, the cough stayed persistent and I knew that I had caught something. As fantastic as business class is, catching a cold 2 days before a show is really not cool.

Suffa and Da Ge share breakfast at the business lounge.
After we arrived at the hotel (which was the glorious Hilton Kuala Lumpur) , I ran as fast as I could to my room so I could pass out. My head was hurting, my ears were ringing, and my throat was about to give. I needed some rest stat. When I got there, I was completely taken aback. The room was gorgeous.
A first glimpse into the beautiful terminal.
I want to kidnap this bed.
It had a guest bath to the left and an open living room facing a 42" Hitachi plasma TV.It
slowly led to a circular hallway which had an office desk and chair,
and a hidden door that led to cabinets on the right and a walk in
closet to the left. As I walked further in, I was greeted with another
closet and an inviting expanse into the main bedroom complete with King
sized bed, lush down pillows, and an Egyptian cotton duvet. The bed was
accompanied by two side tables and a grapefruit colored chaise. It also
faced another large flat screen TV which I used for the next few nights
to watch movies and cartoons in the morning. To the side of the bedroom
was the gigantic bathroom. The bathroom was as big as the room itself.
It was ridiculous. An 8'x4'x3' tub welcomed me to the right side, and 2
sinks with all the amenities sat on my left. In front of me was the
large rain shower encased by a thick tempered glass and a door that led
into the private restroom. What impressed me even more was that all the
amenities (the shampoo, soap, lotion, bath salts) were from one of my
favorite beauty brands, Crabtree and Evelyn. I'd have to say that if there was ever a better place to get sick in, this was it.Later on in the evening all of us went to a local popular radio station
to do a live interview on air. I still wasn't feeling too great, so I
didn't put as much effort into looking my greatest. From the pictures I
see now, I clearly did not choose the right wardrobe. I look like I'm pregnant, haha. The interview was fun and funny and the VJs were
extremely talented. They spoke Cantonese, Mandarin, and English
fluently and wittily at amazing speeds. It just made me think, wow, I
wish I could do that too! But--unfortunately I can't. It was soon
demonstrated when they asked me which of the Machi boys I liked the
most. What I wanted to say was that I liked Don P and Luke because they
are always helpful and that recently Don P gave me a ride home. What I
ACTUALLY said was, I like Luke and Don P because they go home with me.
[Smack my face really hard]. I didn't even get to say why I liked Suffa
too... =P
San Jiao Cooooool
Machi and some pregnant lady on the side. After the radio interview, the handlers from Malaysia took us to a
western fusion restaurant called Souled Out. I ordered a Chilean Sea
Bass bc I was craving that fish for SO long (they don't have that
particular fish in Taiwan) . The food was yummy, the restaurant was fun
and quirky, and I had a great time. Oh yea, the chocolate cake a la
mode is to die also.
Pizza baby!
Chilean Sea Bass! I heart healthy fish and omega 3s =)
Time to get fat!The next day was the press conference and sound check. Everything was
nice, lots of interviews, lots of questions about Jeff's planned movie
that he's still planning... haha...and I finally met Flo Rida for the
first time. I don't really act up in front of famous people and don't
stalk them and stuff even though I have a lot of opportunities to see artists that I idolize. I just shook his hand and said "hi." But let me
tell you the truth: I FREAKIN' LOVE his single "Low." I didn't even know what he looked
like before, but all I cared about was that song. That song is BAD ASS.
I danced to it in LA, in TW, and now in Malaysia! The hook is so catchy
and the song is so fun. Anyway, we did the sound check at the arena
later that night and called it a day.

Machi interview.I watched an indie movie in my hotel room called "Waitress." Yes, it's
a chick flick, but a very good one. I highly recommend it. Like Heath
Ledger, this movie is laced with tragedy as well. The film's director,
writer, and actress Adrienne Shelley was brutally murdered in her
apartment and was staged to look like a suicide shortly after she
finished working on this film. As her final work, I think this is a
film that really matters and is definitely created with all her love and
heart. It stars
Felicity's Keri Russel,
Six Feet Under's Jeremy Sisto,
legendary Andy Griffith, and
Along Came Polly's Cheryl Hines. Ch ch
check it out.
Saturday was the big day. I set my hair in rollers the night before
because none of the curling irons were working with the voltage of the
outlets in my room. I prepared two outfits, a yellow bumblebee dress
for the red carpet photocall and a sparkly striped sequined tank with
up-to-there tuxedo shorts for the show. The stage was beautiful, the
crowd was packed, and the whole night felt very good. I had a lot of
fun on stage and was very pleased to sing a cover of my favorite American pop
song, Rihanna's "Umbrella," to an appreciative crowd who jammed along
with me. I stayed after to party a little bit and also to catch Flo
Rida's performance before going back to the hotel and to start packing
for the trip back to Taipei.
Awaiting the show.

My throat was killing me for the past few days and I didn't really get
to go out to see the sights, but this trip left a pretty positive
lasting impression on me. I definitely want to find the time to
come back to KL one day with some friends and soak up the sunIf you haven't already noticed, I LOVE good food. Eggwhite omelet with chicken sausages, a grilled tomato, grilled mushrooms and ham, hashbrowns, wheat toast, and fresh grape fruit. YUM YUM. It's amazing how I can manage to do the healthy and fattening all at the same time =)
