I recently spent some time in Phnom Penh, Cambodia learning about the war in Cambodia and witnessing the killing fields in choeung ek. I Learnt about Pol Pot and how he led the Khmer Rouge and that under his leadership, Cambodians died from starvation, over work, execution and disease. This is only a small part of what happened in the Cambodian war. Angelina Jolie has recently directed a movie about Loung Ung. She is 5 years old when the Khmer Rouge assumes power over Cambodia in 1975. They soon begin a four-year reign of terror and genocide in which nearly 2 million Cambodians die. Forced from her family's home in Phnom Penh, Ung is trained as a child soldier.
